Last Friday we took 70 very excited Finding Futures students from 6 of our partner primary schools on their Into the Wild weekend. Despite some cold and muddy weather, our young people had an incredible time conquering their fears, making new friends and accomplishing challenges they never thought possible!
They worked together in teams to build rafts and tried these out on the water! Many students overcame their fear of heights on the giant swing or the zip wire. It was wonderful to see students from different schools integrating, being so supportive of each other and working effectively as a team.
The weekend culminated in an awards ceremony where every child was involved in presenting their experience of the weekend in front of an audience of students, teachers and Coaches. We recognised the students who had really shone in demonstrating our key talents - Confidence, Resilience, Communication and Self-awareness.
All of the Yes Futures team were incredibly impressed with the positive attitude and enthusiasm shown by the students. I'm proud to to share some of the students' reflections on the weekend...
