With the half-term break upon us, we thought this would be the perfect time to reflect on all the exciting things we have been up to at Yes Futures.
And we’re back!
This spring, we were thrilled to host our very first in-person school trips of the academic year. Having not been out on trips for over a year, it is an absolute joy to see our Rising Futures students in action once again.
This term, it has been during Play Your Part where we have seen them fully showcase their new essential skills!
Play Your Part has given students the opportunity to get outside and experience something completely new. From litter picking, to designing outdoor classrooms, clearing pathways, mucking out and pruning shrubbery, students have been given the space to discover the benefits of ‘giving back’ through community action beyond their school environment.
Taking the time to self-reflect on their personal development and wellbeing with our fully trained Coaches, to developing key employability skills by visiting a dynamic workplace (remotely, for now) through their World of Work sessions, we have seen our students flourish this year.
Our community is growing
Lockdown didn’t stop new members from joining the Yes Futures community either – we have welcomed wonderful new schools to our network over lockdown and can’t wait to start planning our programmes for 2021-22.
Are you interested in joining our forward-thinking, innovative network of schools? We still have a limited number of subsidised primary and secondary school places available for September 2021. Please get in touch to find out more.
Making our mark
Our recent Impact Report highlights that the work we do to support young people’s confidence and resilience has never been more important. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic over the past year, we are immensely proud of the continued impact of our programmes. Over 96% of students on our programmes have improved in at least one talent area.
Wellbeing is more important than ever
Coaching is at the core of everything we do at Yes Futures. Our partnership with Animas - the UK’s leading coaching provider - has enabled us to provide free coaching to teachers across the country. Last week we hosted our very first webinar together, led by our Director of Impact, Sophie Bartlett. It was a huge success, and it was so wonderful to see so many new faces.
Following the success of this webinar, we will be hosting a second CPD session on ‘how to embed a whole school coaching approach’ on Tuesday 8th June - register now.
In the meantime, why not download our new teacher guide to coaching to find out how to embed a teaching approach into your school?
Looking ahead
We’ve got lots of exciting things coming up before we break up for the summer holidays! After a challenging year, with uncertainty surrounding trips, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that our action-packed Into the Wild residential will be going ahead in July. Stepping outside of their comfort zone, students come together with other school cohorts. The weekend is a brilliant opportunity for students to demonstrate all four Yes Futures Talents: Confidence, Resilience, Communication, and Self-Awareness.
Bring it on!
