Double your donation this December

This December, Yes Futures is taking part in our biggest crowdfund yet - the Big Give Christmas Challenge, we'd love you to get your organisation involved.

We’ve been selected by one of our donors, The Dulverton Trust, to take part in the Christmas Challenge. In doing so they will match fund every pound we raise during the challenge up to £10,000!

That means we have the potential to raise £20,000 in a 7 day period on the Big Give platform between 3rd December midday and 10th December midday

In addition to our other fundraising, corporate donations and school sales, this will make a huge difference to us supporting more young people to develop their self-belief and fulfil their potential.

This is a huge fundraising goal for us here at Yes Futures. We are relatively new to community fundraising and see this as an opportunity to kick-start that - by introducing new people to our work and attracting new donors. And more than anything else, we need you as our champions to share your story with your networks so more people are sharing and talking about the campaign over the next couple of weeks.

That’s where I have a huge favour to ask.

There's a number of ways you can support us over the next week:

  1. Can your company share the campaign with your employees, clients and networks via email or social media. We would be happy to speak directly with your Communications Team.

  1. Ask employees to donate as little as £1 which will be matched, so that the £1 becomes £2. This must be done between now and midday on 10th December on the our campaign page here for the donation to be doubled. Payments can be made by debit/credit card or BACs transfer. If you can give more £5, £10, £20 or £50 that would be incredible - please give whatever you can.

  1. Or ask employers to do some kind of fundraising activity (see some ideas below). This is where you could help us create the greatest impact by engaging your clients, community or network in making donations directly on the platform or through an event you organise.

  1. Personally - are you willing to share the campaign with your friends, family and colleagues/clients via email / social media. If you sign up to the campaign emails here you’ll get access to template emails and social media posts, including images you can use and share. Sharing our stories and the campaign will go a long way to inspiring others to donate.

Fundraising ideas for employers

We have an A-Z of fundraising ideas which might inspire you but some ideas include:

  • Sell / auction some items you own and donate this to our campaign

  • Participate in a physical challenge and ask for sponsorship e.g. race, triathlon, climb a mountain

  • Host a bake sale at your place of work, place of workshop, community space or school

  • Host your favourite event and ask your guests to donate. Add in an auction and other activities to raise more funds on the night.

  • Organise a raffle / quiz night

If you’re thinking about organising any kind of fundraising activity to support our campaign it would really help us if you let us know about it here. That way we can make sure to support you through the process and it will help us know how far we still need to go to reaching our fundraising goal.

Many thanks for your ongoing support!

From the whole Yes Futures Team.
