What’s next for Yes Futures in 2023?

The current cost of living crisis is affecting young people, schools and communities up and down the country. At this time, it is critical that we continue to support students’ wellbeing and develop their resilience and confidence through our programmes. In order to do this, our programmes must remain both impactful and viable for our community of Yes Futures schools.

As a charity, we worked hard to remain resilient throughout the covid pandemic and we have continued to thrive, growing our school network and receiving increased support from partners, demonstrating the need for our work more than ever. Even so, many of our costs, particularly where we rely on other providers, are increasing significantly. We understand that schools are facing the same pressures and we are committed to not raising our prices during this time. We’ve therefore decided to make some improvements and efficiencies to our programmes from March 2023.

One extra coaching session for all young people on our programmes

From March 2023 we will be adding one extra coaching session for every student. This significant increase in coaching time will provide additional valuable support for students to develop and strengthen their self-coaching skills; ensuring the impact of their participation in our programmes continues to grow as they navigate their future school and personal lives.

This extra coaching session will be run by our Programme Managers so there is no requirement for our volunteers to provide additional time in order to support it.

A condensed ‘Into the Wild’ and ‘Play Your Part’ Day

Our Into the Wild residential will be condensed into a one-day format, in place of our Play Your Part day. Having piloted this refined format during the pandemic, we are confident it will have the same outcomes, alongside ensuring the trip is more inclusive and reducing the administrative burden on schools.

A Gatsby Benchmark aligned World of Work Trip

We are refreshing our World of Work trips to ensure that they provide students’ with a powerful immersive experience which supports schools’ statutory careers provision, providing students with encounters with employers and employees and giving them real life experiences of workplaces. Our World of Work trip will now form the final trip in our programmes, giving students a launchpad to set themselves goals for an exciting and fulfilling future.

Looking to the future: Join is in March 2023

As we move into 2023 with a new and energised team, our plans are more ambitious than ever. We intend to reach many more young people with our empowering and impactful programmes, giving them the essential skills they need to achieve their goals and lead happy and fulfilling lives. We want to welcome many more volunteer Coaches onto our programmes and we will seek out new and exciting partnerships to grow our support to young people, providing them with the new opportunities and experiences that they deserve.

We always love to hear from our supporters so if you have any ideas for how you could further strengthen our work in 2023 please do reach out and get in touch.

We still have a few remaining spaces for schools to join our March 2023 . If you are interested in signing up your school for our March or September programmes in 2023 get in touch with our Director of Partnerships, Tina at tina@yesfutures.org.
